POLL: Which of these germ hot spots do you find most disgusting to touch?
Germs are everywhere and they get around in many ways: by air, land and water. From sneezes and coughs, insects or other carriers, blood or other body fluids, contaminated food or water, and cross-contamination, germs have no trouble getting around. Perhaps one of the easiest ways for them to travel is via contaminated surfaces, or “hot spots.” These germ “hot spots” or high touch points are surfaces and objects that many people come into contact with daily. Think of them as an airport terminal for germs, increasing the potential of transferring bacteria and other microorganisms from one person to another. Not all germs cause harm, but bad ones are hoping they can infect you and make you ill.
Simple lines of defense for when you come into contact with these surfaces are:
- Washing your hands with soap and water
- Using hand sanitizer or wipes
- Keeping your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth
Many of these objects we touch daily, even though we may not want to. Which of these germ hot spots do you find most disgusting to touch? Vote now! Then go wash your hands…
